Star Crossed Lovers

Shakespeare once spoke of a love that could survive the distance of stars
A love that could quench any thirst and relinquish any hunger
A love with strength enough to rival that of gods
And in an instant that love can vanish
A love beyond love taken leaving  one weak
A once forever feeling fleeting
And at times to fill this void
We confuse quantity for quality
Jumping from meaningless relationship to meaningless relationship hoping to replace wat we lost
Instead of fighting for what we had
Pride a vindictive obstacle blocking what we truly want
And after mistakes are made, that once king and queen feeling can no longer be repaired
Conversations that spanned from sunrise to sunset gone
And wat was once yours is anothers
Leaving thoughts of what we should have been to what we can no longer be
So when someone asks me who you are to me
I simply say
Your the one that got away
